Parenting Assistance Programme (PAP)

Individual support for parents: The Parenting Assistance Programme (PAP) offers private, flexible, professional and individual support for parents of children at primary and secondary school, by a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. This support can be welcomed by parents who often present to teachers feeling overwhelmed by their child’s behaviour, and can often feel ‘stuck’ as to how to best move forward. PAP can offer support and practical help for a range of issues including:

Sleep routines

Impulsive behaviour

Defiant behaviour

Setting boundaries for children

Parental Separation

Learning needs / difficulties

Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Aspberger’s Syndrome

Dyslexia


Parenting Assistance can be offered at evenings and weekends to suit parents’ and children’s busy schedules, via face-to-face consultations, or via telephone or email. Fees range between £20 and £50 per consultation. Please see Parenting Assistance Programme (PAP) link for further details.

Individual Pupil Counselling

Individual counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is available to pupils presenting with a range of issues, including:

Low self-esteem

Low mood

Anxiety

Panic

Anger difficulties

Self-harm behaviours


Individual counselling can be arranged outside of school hours, including evenings and weekends. All counselling sessions are conducted by a sensitive Chartered Clinical Psychologist, with a wealth of experience of working with young people and their families, and of liaising with educational settings.
