David first became captivated by Internet technologies in 1997 when promoting economic development in local Government.
Back then the Internet was very new and very slow. Dial up modems were the norm and a photo would take 10's of seconds to download. Some wondered whether this was just a flash in the pan, another Sinclair C5 and the like but David saw something altogether more world changing and began to promote Internet technologies as a tool for business development, teaching skills, building communities and changing the way we live.
This leadership made Chester one of the leading UK cities in the application of online technlogies in this field and this led David to move on to a new role heading up an organisation in Liverpool aimed at building the music industry. Again he saw the growing power and influence of online music as the future and supported a range of projects and artists that developed online music technologies.
In 1999 David moved to Lancashire become the first 'Digital Envoy' in the north west, promoting and supporting the use of Internet technologies in urban regeneration. This lead in 2001 to his appointment as Digital Policy Manager for the Regional Government Office for the North West, where David oversaw millions of pounds of public investment in Internet technologies across Merseyside.
In 2007 David Taylor Webmedia was created, bringing 10 years of experience in this field to the commercial sector. Today DTWM continues to deliver excellence in digital marketing, helping business to understand and exploit this fast moving and ever changing environment.
